Staff users can be granted permission to:
A prescriber with an active eRx plan must already be configured.
Only users with the Administrator role can assign eRx permissions to staff.
When at least one prescriber is enrolled in an eRx plan, two role options become available for staff:
Support eRx: Allows basic eRx access for queuing or preparing prescriptions.
eRx Administrator: Required to manage EPCS (Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances) approvals for prescribers.
Administrators can manage user roles under Settings > Account Management.
Go to Settings > Account Management.
Locate the staff member and select Edit next to their name.
If the staff user hasn’t been added yet, select Invite User to send them an invitation to register their account.
Assign the appropriate role:
Use Support eRx if EPCS approval is not required.
Use eRx Administrator to approve EPCS for providers.
Once the staff user is assigned the correct role, the provider must approve their access within the eRx module.
The provider should open a client chart and confirm the client’s address and phone number are entered in the Demographics section.
Select Edit if updates are needed.
Open the Chart Face, and begin a Progress Note.
Create a Progress Note (or any other note that allows medication entry) and select Enter next to Medications.
In the Medication List tab, select Manage Medication(s).
A window titled Access Requests appears.
Locate the staff administrator in the list (bottom left corner).
Select Grant to allow the staff member to:
Prescribe medications on behalf of the provider.
Queue prescriptions for provider review.
A confirmation prompt will appear. Once confirmed, the staff user will have access to the eRx module within ICANotes+.
