[Rcopia4] RxCancel – Electronic Cancellation of e-Prescribed Prescriptions

RxCancel allows a provider to send a request to a pharmacy to cancel a prescription that had been sent previously. It also lets the pharmacy respond to the request with an approval or denial and a note indicating how much of the original prescription that had already been filled. Any pharmacies that are enabled for RxCancel will receive these requests electronically, otherwise the RxCancel request will be sent to the pharmacy by fax.

From the Prescription Report

Search for any recently completed prescriptions

Locate the prescription in the itemized report listing, then click the  icon to Cancel.

Click in the “Reasons for Cancellation” dropdown to make a selection, then click Cancel Prescription.

If the desired cancellation reason is not present within the dropdown field, providers also have the ability to free text in any additional reasoning within the Notes section.

The Status icon will reflect the prescription’s cancelled status

Pharmacies enabled for RxCancel are expected to send a response. Cancellation responses will be made available in the Messages Screen. Providers have the ability to view these and acknowledge them if they choose.

You can also click on the line item (such as on the patient’s name) to open the Review Prescription popover to see the status under Transmission History
