New Therapist HPI

New Therapist HPI

ICANotes has introduced an updated History of Present Illness (HPI) for Therapists and Counselors that combines a simplified workflow and new design. The new HPI is streamlined and cleaner in appearance and limits the number of clicks one must make in order to find specific content. All users have the ability to switch back to the "classic" view. All custom buttons previously created in the classic HPI tab will be visible and available for use within the new design. Security Administrators can reach out to ICANotes Support to have the New Therapist HPI enabled for their account.      From the client's Chart Face, click to select Complete Assessment (of your discipline) to start a new note.     The Hist. Present Illness tab will reflect the new design, as seen below:       To switch to the classic version, click the 'Classic' HPI tab.     You can switch back to the new design by clicking the 'New Work Areas' tab in blue.     You will find all of the same content you're used to seeing in the classic version, in the new design. Some areas - such as Symptoms - have been rearranged for a more efficient workflow. Below is a side-by-side comparison showing the changes between Symptoms in the classic and new designs:     Click Client has Symptoms of to see the full listing of Symptoms.     Click to make a selection and related content will appear in the second and third columns.     Your note contents will appear as you click through the shrub content, making appropriate selections based on your client's treatment and/or the type of therapy you provide.   Current Stressors follows Symptoms:     Followed by Rating Scales:         Symptom/Behavior Review:       Pertinent Negatives are now contained within one seamless location:       Click to Enter Test Results will take you to the same Test Results input window:   Screenshot for New Therapist HPI  Screenshot for New Therapist HPI      The Do An ASAM Screen will likewise open the ASAM screening as it traditionally has.   Screenshot for New Therapist HPI  Screenshot for New Therapist HPI       When finished with the client's History of Present Illness, move on to the next tab(s) to complete the note.       FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
  • Do I have to remake all of my custom buttons? No. Any custom buttons created by or shared with you will still be available for use in the new design of the HPI.
  • Can I set the "classic" version as my preferred note type so I don't have to toggle back and forth? At this time, no. When enabled the new design will always display first. You will need to click into the 'Classic' HPI tab each time you create a new note if that is your preferred layout.
  • Help! I can't find (specific symptom) in the new design. Some symptoms have been reorganized. For example, if you're looking for Panic Attacks, this symptom is found in the Anxiety section of the classic design. In the new design, Panic Attacks is listed independently of "Anxiety".
  • Can I create a test note just to play around and see the new changes? Sure! If you have a test or sample chart setup on your account (such as "John Doe", "Mickey Mouse", or another similar name) go ahead and create a new Complete Assessment and click around to look at the new design. Since it's a test/sample chart, no actual client data will be disrupted.
