New Therapist PN

New Therapist PN

New Therapist PN   We have introduced a new simplified version of the Therapist (Non-Prescriber) Progress Note that is now available to ICANotes users via group rule. The basic set of buttons in the Classic (old) version have been preserved and duplicated in the New version, which is less cluttered and includes other advantages that will become apparent with use. One advantage of the New version: buttons remain on the screen when you're working, without needing to click 'Back'. To have this new note enabled for your group, please have your Security Administrator reach out to ICANotes Support at ticket@icanotes.com   From the patient's chart face, click to create a new Therapist PN.   Screenshot for New Therapist PN   Therapist PN, Part 1: Screenshot for New Therapist PN   Therapist PN, Part 2: Screenshot for New Therapist PN   Within the Therapist PN you will notice there are Part 1 and Part 2 tabs. You will have the option of navigating to the 'Classic' version of the Therapist PN, as well as quick access to patient Demographics.    Screenshot for New Therapist PN   To switch to the 'Classic' style of the Therapy PN, simply click the button and the familiar layout will load. If you've already entered text into the note before switching, either from clicking our updated shrub content, custom buttons, or free-texting in your own content, your text will carry over into the classic version.    Likewise once in the 'Classic' Therapy PN, if you choose to return to the New work areas, you may do so by clicking the blue New Work Areas Screenshot for New Therapist PN button located near the top right of the note header.    Screenshot for New Therapist PN   In the new Therapist PN Part 1, the following clinical data can be noted:
  • Symptoms
  • Behavior
  • Verbal Content
  • Therapy Intervention
  • MSE/Appearance
  • Drug Withdrawal/Intoxication
  • Rating Scales
  • Current Stressors
  • Suicide/Violence Risk Assessment
  • Level of Care
  • Travel Questionnaire
Content from these fields will populate in the classic yellow work area, with an additional work area for Instructions and Recommendations immediately below.    The following image outlines content changes between the old and new versions of the Therapist PN with helpful color-coding.    Screenshot for New Therapist PN   To navigate from PN Part 1 to PN Part 2, simply click the Continue button in the lower right corner of PN Part 1, or click directly on the PN Part 2 tab at the top of the note.   In Therapist PN Part 2, clinicians will have access to the standard Diagnosis and Service Code input work areas, as well as Health Concerns and Risks and Medical History (these sections carry forward from note-to-note, as is typical in other note types).    Time Spent & Authorization, Link to Treatment Plan, Course During Treatment, Private Notes and Return Visit entries are all conveniently located to the left of the text work areas, as is the button to Save as Progress Note and Save as Final Exam and Create Discharge Summary.   Screenshot for New Therapist PN   As with other notes, ICANotes users have the ability to create custom buttons in each of the yellow work areas to build their own customized content which can be used individually or shared among colleagues or the entire group.    Note: custom buttons which were created in the Classic version will be available for use within the New version, and vice versa (custom buttons created in the New version will be available to use in the Classic version).   In July 2020 our Chief Clinical Director demoed the new Therapist note in a live webinar.
