As part of ongoing efforts to modernize the classic ICANotes user experience, the Chart Face has been updated to reflect a refreshed design while introducing new customization options! While some buttons have been relocated, the overall design of the classic Chart Face remains. With this new update, users can now customize the buttons displayed on the patient's chart. Read on to learn what's new and how you can customize your patient chart face. Security Administrators can contact Support at ticket@icanotes.com to request enabling the new Chart Face.
When viewing the new chart face for the first time, you will see a default setup of Chart Face note buttons, which you can customize based on your needs.
After making customizations, the chart can appear something like this:
The biggest changes to the user interface are in the header where the chart information resides...
...and in the display of notes and other related buttons at the bottom of the chart...
Click Change Patient Status to open a modal that will allow setting the chart to Active, Inactive, or Pending status. After making changes click Save. To close the modal, click Cancel.
Click Assigned Providers to open a modal that displays all assigned providers to the chart. The Principal Provider will be highlighted in green. The Principal provider is typically the first individual assigned to the chart, or if multiple users are assigned a Principal can be selected from Demographics. To close the modal, click the button.
Click All Where Seen to open a modal that will display the patient's assigned locations. The Primary site where the patient is seen will be highlighted in green. If the patient is not assigned to a site, no information will display. To close the modal, click the button.
The new update allows for the user to customize the note types displayed on the patient chart face. For example, a non-prescribing therapist could customize their chart face to only display notes which are specific to their practice, hiding note types (such as prescribing notes) that are not.
To make customizations, click Set Up Chart Face Note Buttons. This will open a modal where all available options will be displayed. Using your mouse or input device, you can check the note types you want to be displayed, and uncheck those you want to hide. After making changes click Save. To close the modal, click Cancel.
Your changes will be saved/remembered from one chart to the next, and will continue to display on future logins until the settings are updated again.
For those who prefer the 'classic' style button arrangement, you can click View 'Classic' Buttons to open a modal that displays the original arrangement of assessments, progress notes, and other note types. To close the modal, click the button.
Click the search bar located toward the top of the chart to search for and navigate to another patient chart. To close the modal, click the button.
