How to Enter Managed Care Authorizations

1.  From the Chart Face (Classic) of a patient, click on Screenshot for How to Enter Managed Care Authorizations in the lower left-hand corner of the Chart Face:

2.  Click on the Screenshot for How to Enter Managed Care Authorizations button

3.  Provide the Authorization Number, Date issued/expired, Authorized By, and Services Authorized (shown in red boxes), as well as either the sessions or units and your desired Alert Threshold (shown in blue boxes).

4.  Return to Screenshot for How to Enter Managed Care Authorizations.

5.  Create or update progress note. 

 6.  On the Screenshot for How to Enter Managed Care Authorizations tab, enter the Screenshot for How to Enter Managed Care Authorizationsused (normally 1). 

7.  Click on the dropdown for Screenshot for How to Enter Managed Care Authorizations.

8.  If you receive an alert.  Click 'OK'.

If the date of service is prior to the issue date of the managed care authorization, you will be prompted with the following notification:

9.  Compile the progress note. 

10.  If you desire to review the available/used sessions, return to the Chart Face and click on "Add or Update Managed Care Authorization" in the lower left-hand corner for Classic:

Or top right-hand corner of the Chart Face for the New Layout:

11.  Or, from the Chart Room > Settings > click on drawer, 'Group Level Settings & Directories' tab > then MCM Auth. tab. 

12. Or, this can be found in the Chart Flag on the chart face.

Click on the chart flag:

Then, check the box that says Display Managed Care Authorizations:

When adding a new Managed Care Authorization number, the Screenshot for How to Enter Managed Care Authorizations checkbox at the top right of the Managed Care Monitor screen) will highlight green. When checked, the following prompt will appear to the user compiling a note:

If a Managed Care Authorization number is not required for the note, uncheck the green check box and then compile the note
