Group Rule: Set Authorizations by Service Code

ICANotes has introduced a new group rule, "Set Authorizations by Service Code". When enabled, this rule will allow a Managed Care Authorization number to be linked to multiple service codes. When a specified service code is entered into a note, the linked authorization number will automatically populate in the MCM Number field within the note work areas. Security Administrators looking to enable this rule can call ICANotes Support at 443-569-8778.   For detailed workflow on entering a Managed Care Authorization number, please refer to this Knowledge Base article.   From the patient's chart face, navigate to Add or Update Managed Care Authorizations.     Enter details for the authorization:       1 - Click New to create a new authorization, or click on any existing authorization to update it 2 - Enter the Authorization Details 3 - Specify one or more Service Code(s) from the dropdown field (this pulls from your group's short list). Use Shift+Click to select multiple codes at once. 4 - Set additional details, such as the Issued Date and Authorized Sessions/Units   Example:       Once details pertaining to the authorization are set, return to the Chart Face.   When a note is created for the patient with an active authorization and the specified Code is entered into the Service Code work area, the Managed Care Authorization number will populate automatically for you.     Select the service code from the first dropdown spot in the CPT Code pop-out.     After clicking Done, if the selected service code matches the code linked to the authorization number, the Managed Care Authorization field will populate automatically.     If the code is removed/replaced, the authorization number will also be removed.   For any questions, please reach out to ICANotes Support.
