Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs) are highly effective tools utilized by government officials for reducing prescription drug abuse and diversion. PDMPs collect, monitor, and analyze electronically transmitted prescribing and dispensing data submitted by pharmacies and dispensing practitioners.
To get the process started, please complete the following actions:
- Complete the state’s required registration process, including signing terms of conditions or any necessary paperwork.
- Your group's owner or a Security Administrator must complete the Information Solution Provisioning Request form and Gateway Licensee Questionnaire forms, available on our website here: https://www.icanotes.com/features/charting/psychiatry/e-prescribing/pdmp-integration/

Once the PDMP integration has been paid for, we will submit a PDMP creation ticket to DrFirst. The DrFirst Implementation team will work with Appriss and the state to setup your group for PDMP.
Please Note: Processing time varies by state and could take months to complete. If your state does not offer any subsidies, a realistic ETA would be 1 to 3 months for implementation, barring delays. For states where subsidies are offered, the process may take longer than that.
We will inform you as soon as DrFirst responds to confirm PDMP is enabled.
When enabled, you'll be able to click the
button under the Medications widget in DrFirst to perform PDMP checks.
