How to Cancel / Delete Prescription

Overview 

ICANotes+ allows you to cancel the prescription. Once you cancel the prescription, it appears with the Cancelled status on the prescription screen, medications list, and compiled note. You can also delete the prescription. Once you delete the prescription, it will disappear from the prescription screen.

 

Canceling Prescription

This section depicts the steps to cancel the prescription. It also shows the medication appears with the Cancelled status on the medications list and compiled notes.

 

To cancel the prescription,

 

1. Access any note that allows you to prescribe a medication.

2. Let's take an example of Progress Note.

3. In the Medication section, click the Enter button.

 

 

 

 

The Medication List tab appears as shown below. Click the Manage Medications button.

 

 

 

The Manage Medication List tab appears as shown below. Click the  icon as depicted in the screen below:

 

 

 

Clicking the icon opens the following screen. Click the Cancel Prescription option from the list.

 

 

 

The following screen appears to confirm the cancellation of the prescription. Click Yes.

 

 

 

Note: When the pharmacy is unable to receive cancelled prescriptions electronically, the following screen appears. Click OK and call pharmacy to cancel the prescription in this case.

 

 

 

Once the prescription is cancelled successfully, the medication status changes to CANCEL and it appears on the prescription screen as shown below:

 

 

 

Select the Medication List tab. Locate the medication status as Cancelled as shown in the screen below:

 

 

When you compile the note, the medication status appears as Cancelled as shown below:

 

 

 


Deleting Prescription

This section depicts the steps to delete the prescription. It also shows the medication appears with the Cancelled status on the medications list and compiled notes.

 

To delete the prescription,

 

1. Access any note that allows you to prescribe a medication.

2. Let's take an example of Progress Note.

3. In the Medication section, click the Enter button.

 

 

 

The Medication List tab appears as shown below. Click the Manage Medications button.

 

 

 

The Manage Medication List tab appears as shown below. Click the  icon as depicted in the screen below:

 

 

 

Clicking the icon opens the following screen. Click the Delete option from the list.

 

 

 

The following screen appears to confirm deleting the prescription. Click Yes.

 

 

 

You must enter the reason for deleting the prescription. Once you enter the reason, click the Delete button.

 

 

 

Once a prescription is deleted, it will no longer appear in the prescription, medication list, or the compiled note.
