When using the New Calendar, users are able to schedule a patient quickly and efficiently by using the following workflow.
Click on 'Find Openings', then choose a clinician from the 'Clinician' drop-down menu.
Within the Seek window, you can change criteria to find the ideal appointment time for the patient.
As you make selections within the Seek window, the results shown on the right should update; however, you can click to refresh results.
When you find a time range that the patient likes, simply select the timeframe in the right column.
The Event Detail window will open.
Within the Event Detail window, you can change criteria for the patient.
Click the button to save appointment.
Scheduling with the Legacy Calendar
The purpose of Patient Driven Scheduling is to allow you the freedom to schedule your patients without ever having to use the full Calendar.
This functionality only works for users of the Legacy Calendar and can be accessed through the Appointment History section of the Calendar functionality, which is viewed from the 'Appt History' button in a patient's chart.
There is also a 'Create Appointment' button in the Classic Chart Room.
By clicking one of these buttons, you will be brought to the Appointment History screen for that patient. If no patient shows in the top left, select a patient by clicking the area.
This will open the Find window where you can select the patient you would like to schedule.
Once you have selected your patient, click the button in the top left to open up the clinician's available time slots.
The Seek feature works the same as it does in the New Calendar. Ensure that you've selected a clinician, mark the days your patient is available to see them, choose the number of weeks from the current date or an appropriate date range -
And then save your appointment!
Click the back to ICANotes button to return to the patient's Chart Face (or work area if you used the Reports menu option).

Switching From New to Legacy Calendar
You can switch from New back to Legacy by going to 'Settings and Directories', choosing 'Calendar Options', and then 'Legacy Calendar'. This is helpful if you prefer one workflow over the other, though please be aware that users of the Legacy Calendar do not have the same option to switch to the New Calendar. A Security Administrator may request this change for the whole group by contacting our Support team.
