This Knowledge Base article covers the steps for completing the Identity Proofing Process. If you need assistance please call Support at (443)569-8778. You can also view these steps in the EPCS On-boarding video.
Following processing of your e-prescribing service agreement, you will receive a welcome email inviting you to complete the identity proofing process.
Use Click to Register to launch your browser to the EPCS Gold screen. In the bottom right-hand corner, you’ll see the “I have an invite” box with your NPI number and Invite ID pre-populated.
Click the orange Proceed button.
Next you’ll need to review and accept the Terms of Use and Conditions. Check each box as you read. Once all checkboxes are checked, the ‘I Agree’ button will be available.
You’re now ready to complete identity proofing. On the next screen, you’ll be given a temporary session password which can be used for up to 24 hours. Make a note of this session password. If you cannot finish identity proofing in one sitting, you can choose to save your progress, then return within the 24-hour time period using the session password to continue.
Click Next to proceed.
The next screen will list pre-requisites you need in order to complete the identity proofing process. This includes your Symantec token (either the hard token sent to you via USPS, or a soft token you can download to your mobile phone or desktop) as well as a personal credit card (this must be a personal Visa or Mastercard registered to your name and not a business or other entity). If you do not have a personal credit card to use, you may choose to skip when asked to provide the first 8-digits of the card number. A personal credit card is not required for identity proofing, but does help to further verify your identity and subsequently pass.
Click Continue to proceed.
On the next screen you’ll read through the INFINID Application Terms of Use. Check the checkbox and click I Accept to continue.
Now you’ll start to enter and verify your personal information. Some fields will automatically populate your information, including your name, NPI, email address and DEA number. You’ll enter your personal information into every field with an asterisk*, which denotes it is a required field. You do not have to complete any fields which aren’t required. That said, a credit card under your name is strongly suggested to prevent identity proofing failures. Your credit card will NOT be charged. If a credit freeze is in place on your credit card or credit profile which prevents your credit report from being accessed, you cannot complete the IDP at this time. It is necessary to temporarily remove the credit freeze to successfully complete the IDP. You may contact Experian's National Consumer Assistance Center (Experian Dispute Department) at 888-397-3742.
When entering your Date of Birth, click the calendar icon and select first the year, then month and day. In the Home Street Address field, be sure not to use any punctuation (such as “st.” for street, but “st” is fine).
It is recommended you provide your mobile phone number in the field, even though it is not a set requirement. This phone number should be registered to you personally and not another entity. Doing so will expedite the full onboarding process in that Experian will send a text message with a confirmation code needed in the latter part of the identity proofing process. If you do not include your mobile phone number, Experian will not send you the confirmation code via text message, and you will need to wait 2-3 business days to receive a letter via USPS with the code.
On the right-hand side you’ll see the option to provide your Driver’s License State and Number. You are not required to complete these fields and can leave them blank while still passing IDP. However if you choose to include this information, be sure to include both the Driver’s License State and Driver’s License Number.
Double check your entries for accuracy, as you only have three attempts at identity proofing before you will be temporarily suspended from completing the process. This suspension lasts 24 hours. If you cannot pass identity proofing on the third try, you will need to wait a full 24 hours since the time of the third failure before you can try again. This temporary suspension cannot be overridden by ICANotes Support or DrFirst.
When you’re certain your entered information is accurate, click I Agree to proceed.
You’ll then be taken to the next screen where you’ll see three security questions you must provide answers to. These questions may include identifying which bank you opened a line of credit or a mortgage with, or the amount of your monthly car payment. Answer each question to the best of your knowledge.
Once you’ve answered all three questions, click I Agree to continue.
Congratulations! Your identity is now confirmed, but there are still a few steps to take to continue setting up your e-prescribing account, starting with registering your hard or soft token.
If at this point you do not yet have your token, you can leave the identity proofing process and return to it with 24 hours using the temporary session password you received at the start of this process.
If you have one or more tokens ready, click to Add New Token.
Use each dropdown field as it appears to input your token information. If you still aren’t sure what a particular field is asking for, click the orange ? button to see a tool tip.
Token Manufacturer = This will be either Symantec or Onespan. If your token says ONESPAN on it, choose Onespan, otherwise choose Symantec.
Token Issuer = Select DrFirst
