Always Patient Responsibility Option
1. A Group Administrator can mark a code as Always Patient Responsibility. Go to the Group Level Settings & Directories and Service/Mod Codes tab. This will cause the charge to not go through an insurance payer and be the patient's responsibility to pay. An example of this is indicated in the screenshot below: a patient who does not call to cancel but cancels the appointment will be charged a fee that is the patient's responsibility.
2. Under a user's billing rates, a billing fee is assigned.

3. An example of this use is my test patient, Mr. Banner. He became angry and violent during the appointment and destroyed office equipment. This will be charged to the patient.
4. If we go to the service charge for this appointment and select the Broken Furniture charge, you will see that is assigned as a patient responsibility.
