Specify What Medical Record(s) Can Be Seen By Patient

The ability to specify what medical records can be seen by the patient is done through the Upload Site by Group Administrators and Security Administrators. Only PDF and XML files can be set to be seen by the patient. This will be useful if you want the patient to see uploaded forms, clinical messages, form letters, etc. 

1. Go to the Upload Site and log in.

2. Find the patient on the left.

3. Upload a document (remember only PDF and XML can be made unavailable to the patient). Decide if you want the patient able to see the medical record. Upload the document.

4. To edit an existing document to show to the patient, click the edit Screenshot for Specify What Medical Record(s) Can Be Seen By Patient button next to the record you would like seen. 

5. In the popover window, select "Patient can View this Medical Record" checkbox.

6. Click the Screenshot for Specify What Medical Record(s) Can Be Seen By Patient button to save the change. 

7. The note will now show that the patient can view this Medical Record

Your patients will see this, showing them the documents that you marked for him/her to view. 

Clicking on the Screenshot for Specify What Medical Record(s) Can Be Seen By Patient button will allow the patient to see the record. In this example, the patient is seeing the progress note that was marked for him/her to view.
