Inserting an NDC Number for Injectable Codes
When entering specific injectable J-codes into the service code work area of your note, you will be prompted to include the accompanying 11-digit NDC number.
You will want to ensure that you have your injection code(s) added to your short list. A group administrator can establish the code first in Group Level Settings and Directories in the Service/Mod Codes tab. Then the user can add that code to their short list with a billing rate. Open documentation on icanotes-ehr.na1.teamsupport.com to view our Knowledge Base guide on adding service codes.
In the service code work areas of a Progress Note, click in any service code dropdown to select an injectable code from your short list.
Once selected, you will receive a prompt asking you to type in the 11-digit NDC number for the specified injection code. Then click OK.

Your J-code will briefly display as a set of numerical characters that will revert back to the J-code once the NDC number is entered. The injectable code(s) will be added to the note.
On the CMS 1500 form for professional billing, the injectable code(s) will be in the shaded portion of Box 24A
For customers billing electronically, the NDC code(s) will populate in Loop 2410 segment LIN03 of the ANSI
