How to Restore a Deleted Note, Chart, or Treatment Plan

  • Sections
    • You should be brought by default to this tab.
    • Choose the user who deleted the note, chart, or treatment plan.
  • Go to the Restore Deleted tab.
  • Click on the type of file you are restoring (note, chart, or treatment plan).

1. Login to ICANotes.

2. From the Chart Room, Go to Settings + Directories:

3. On the Main (Specific to Individual) tab: 

  A. You should be brought by default to this tab.

  B. Choose the user who deleted the note, chart, or treatment plan.

  C. Go to the Restore Deleted tab. 

  D. Click on the type of file you are restoring (note, chart, or treatment plan).

4. For this example, we are going to locate a deleted note.

5. Locate the specific note deleted based on Patient Name, Encounter Date and Note type.

6. Click on the “Restore” button Screenshot for How to Restore a Deleted Note, Chart, or Treatment Plan to the right of the note, chart, or treatment plan you want to restore.

7. Confirm you want to restore the chart or note by clicking “Yes, Restore."

8. If the restored file is unfinished (not compiled), return to the Chart Room and locate the patient's note or treatment plan.


9. Compile the note to ensure that it is written to the database and a PDF backup is created.
