How to Create a Practice Diagnosis Short List

Overview

This article provides instructions on configuring diagnosis codes to create client notes. Once configured, these codes will automatically populate, allowing you to select the appropriate ones when making notes.

Configuring Diagnosis Codes

Before you can use diagnosis codes in notes, you need to configure them.

To configure diagnosis codes, go to Settings > Practice Settings > Diagnosis Short List and click the Add to List button as shown below.

The Add Diagnosis Code screen will appear, as shown below:

You can select diagnosis codes in two ways:

  • Step-by-Step Selection: Choose the major category first, then refine your selection by choosing a subcategory, and finally select the specific diagnosis code.
  • Search and Select: Enter the diagnosis code or part of its description (e.g., search for "R51" or "headache") in the search bar to find and select the code from the populated list.

Once you've selected a diagnosis code, click Add.

A success message will confirm the addition of the diagnosis code to the list. You can view all configured diagnosis codes on the following screen.

  • Use pagination to navigate through more configured codes across different pages.
  • Use the search bar at the top to locate a specific diagnosis code from the list. The system will search across all pages to find codes matching your criteria.

Deleting Diagnosis Codes

You can remove diagnosis codes from your short code list. To delete a code, click the Delete icon on the far right side of the code entry.
