This feature allows you to add signatures to patient document using either a mouse or a touch-screen. Please note that touchscreen devices (phones, tablets, or laptops) may experience difficulty with this feature.
To enable, please follow the instructions below:
1. A Security Administrator needs to go to the Security Center to activate the group rule.
2. After entering the Security Center, click the Group Rules button on the upper right.
3. Go to the Defaults tab and enable the 'Pointing Device Signature Capture' group rule.
4. Log off and then log back on for the change to take effect
1. Click the button to reach the Compiled Note screen of any note type (excluding most Custom Forms)
2. Choose one of the options for 'Signed By'
3. Select 'Capture Signature'
4. Use your mouse (or finger if on touchpad) to sign
You can use the 'Clear Signature' to re-attempt the signature, or 'Accept Signature' to save it.
With this group rule turned on, individuals may need to switch between Topaz Pad signing and Pointing Device signing. This can be done through Settings and Directories.
1. Go to the Device tab on the Specific to Individual area.
2. Click in the Capture Device field and choose 'Pointing Device'.
Please note: If your office also uses the Topaz device, the Topaz Pad can still be used. Make sure the Capture Device is set as Topaz for the computers that use the Topaz Device.
