FHIR Access

FHIR Access

This Knowledge Base article will walk clinicians through the steps of activating FHIR access

A Group administrator will have the access to initiate the process for patient's to have access for their data via FHIR API. This will be under Group Level Settings > Integrations.

Organization Name, Street, City, State, zip code, phone, email, and Organization NPI are required. (Required fields are highlighted in yellow). The address and Organization name doesn't necessarily has to match with what's in Sites but with your Mental Health Organization name and address to allow the patients find their Mental Health Provider easily.

Once all required fields are in place, the "Activate FHIR" button will be clickable.

After clicking "Activate FHIR" there will be a URL data transfer dialog twice during the process.

When the process is completed the "Activate FHIR" button will be grayed out. This process sends an email to "MyLinks" to activate the group. It might take one business days so MyLinks can do their part and activate the profile and gather their records.

*There's also an Screenshot for FHIR Access tooltip where you can hover your mouse and will display when the group was enabled and when the activation email was sent.

To enable a patient click the "FHIR access" checkbox. If there's an email in place under the email field the system will validate it and will required confirmation, the email is in fact valid. If the email is valid click "Yes".

In the case the email address is empty, the system will allow you to enter the patient's email address when "FHIR access" is checked.

Once you enter the patient's email address, click "Yes". There will a second dialog box to verify the correct email was put in place. If the email is correct click "Yes".

The "FHIR access" box will be checked confirming the patient is enabled for FHIR.

Now that "FHIR access" has been enabled for the patient, whenever qualifying note like Complete Assessment, Progress note, Quick note is created and compiled, ICANotes will send the data to ConnectEHR for them to send an invitation to the patient to create an API account through their Mental Health Provider office.

Note: Form/assessments, Form letter, Clinical message, treatment plans, med pickup notes, clinical summaries do not qualify.
