Creating Discharge Instructions

This knowledge base article will cover how to create discharge instructions for a patient. 

1. Choose the Prescriber Progress Note button (or Therapist if you are a non-prescriber).

2. You will need to decide which medications are for discharge (if you are a prescriber).


3. Then you will compile your note.

4.  Click the Create Discharge Summary button.  

5. Click through the four tabs adding your instructions

6. On tab 2 (Discharge Status & Instructions) you will print the discharge instructions for the patient by clicking the Screenshot for Creating Discharge Instructions button.

Example of Patient Instructions:

7. On the last tab (Included Progress Notes), choose if you want to include any notes and then select the appropriate button to compile.

8. When you compile the button, a popup will show asking how you want to print the discharge summary.
