Overview 

This KB article includes the new features released in ICANotes+ version v7.9.

New Permission to Generate Invoice 

A new permission 'Generate Invoice' has been added in the Billing section to control access to generating invoices. Users must have this permission to generate invoices from the Billing tab or within a Note. Users without this permission will see a restriction tooltip when they hover over the Generate Invoice option. 

Where This Permission Applies:  

Billing > Invoicing Section

• If users lack permission, the Generate Invoice link will appear disabled, with a tooltip explaining the restriction, as shown below. 

Within a Note

• When generating an invoice in a note, users without the required permission will find the Generate Invoice button disabled, with the tooltip appearing as shown below. 

Added Permission to Edit Client Balance 

In the previous release, a feature was introduced allowing users to edit client balances in the Account Ledger section. In this release, the feature has been updated to include permission-based access. Now, only authorized users can edit client balances. A new permission, 'Edit Client Balance from Account Ledger' has been added to the Roles & Permissions section. Users without this permission will receive a toast notification informing them they are not authorized to edit client balances. 

Refer to the screenshot below of the Account Ledger section, where users can edit client balances. 

In the Roles & Permissions section, locate the 'Edit Client Balance from Account Ledger' permission under the Billing tab. If this checkbox is not selected, users assigned to the role will be restricted from editing client balances. 

When restricted users attempt to click the pencil icon, a restriction message will be displayed as shown below: 

Integration with the 'Etactics' Clearinghouse for Insurance Eligibility Verification

In the previous release, the Etactics clearinghouse was introduced, allowing practices to submit claims and download remittances. With this release, users can now also verify clients' insurance eligibility through the clearinghouse. 

Resizing Columns for Enhanced Data Visibility 

In ICANotes+, you can now adjust the width of table columns to improve data visibility. The columns will reset to their default width when you refresh the page or navigate away and return. To resize a column, hover your cursor between two column headers and drag it left to narrow or right to widen the column.
