This KB article includes the new features released in ICANotes+ version v7.7.
In the client’s chart, the following panels within the Billing section are now permission-based. Only authorized users will have access to these details when expanding each panel:
If users lack the necessary permissions, these panels will appear disabled:
Within the Roles and Permissions settings, you will find the following new permissions added under the Billing section:
Navigate to Settings > Practice Settings > Roles & Permissions and edit the role.
Expand the Billing section to view the new permissions, highlighted in the screenshot below.
In this example, the clinician does not have access to the Invoicing section.
When navigating to the Billing tab, the Invoicing panel will appear disabled, as shown in the screenshot below.
Previously, when creating a payer rule, the sentence format did not clearly specify which details were being referenced. For example, a rule created to replace the "Billing NPI" would only display "NPI" in the rule, making it unclear if it referred to the Billing NPI, Rendering Provider NPI, or Referring Provider NPI. Now, the exact detail will appear within the rule, as shown below.
To improve clarity, prefixes have been added to all relevant fields in the Object/Field dropdown. When expanding this dropdown while creating a new rule, you will see the specific prefix for each field. To access this, go to Settings > Revenue Cycle Management > Payer Rules and create a new rule.
In each section, fields will display with their respective prefixes. For example, under the Billing section, you will see fields like Billing Organization Name, Billing Federal Tax ID, and others.
ICANotes+ now prevents users from creating accounts with disposable email addresses. If a user attempts to sign up with any of the following temporary email providers, they will be prompted to use a different email address:
This restriction applies to signing up for new user accounts, inviting users, sending patient portal invitations, creating charts, and adding client contact details.
