Grant User Access to Practice Settings

Overview 

This Knowledge Base article provides comprehensive guidance on assigning user access to the practice settings within the system. It outlines the step-by-step process for granting access and includes screenshots to illustrate how access limitations are displayed to users without the required permissions.

 

By using this guide, administrators can efficiently manage access and ensure that only authorized personnel can handle the practice settings.

 

 

Grant Permission to Access the Account Management Tab 

To grant permission to access the Account Management tab: 

 

  1. Go to Settings > Practice Settings > Roles & Permissions.
  2. Select the Edit button for the desired role.
  3. On the Update Role screen, expand the Practice Settings tab and select the Access & Manage Account Management Tab checkbox.

 

 

 

Users without this permission who attempt to access the Account Management tab in Settings will encounter a restriction message. See the following screenshots for reference: 

 

 

 

 

 

Grant Permission to Configure Clinical Billing Rates

To grant permission to configure the clinical billing rates: 

 

  1. Go to Settings > Practice Settings > Roles & Permissions.
  2. Select the Edit button for the desired role.
  3. On the Update Role screen, expand the Practice Settings tab and select the Access the Clinical Billing Rates checkbox.

 

 

 

Users without this permission won’t see the Clinical Billing Rates section in Settings Revenue Cycle Management. 

 

 

Grant Permission to Access the Practice Settings 

To grant permission to access the Practice Settings tab: 

 

  1. Go to Settings > Practice Settings > Roles & Permissions.
  2. Select the Edit button for the desired role.
  3. On the Update Role screen, expand the Practice Settings tab and select the Access the Practice Settings checkbox.

 

 

Users without this permission who attempt to access the Practice Settings tab in Settings will encounter a restriction message. See the following screenshot for reference: 

 

 

Grant Permission to Access the Settings on the Left Sidebar 

To grant permission to access the Settings option from the left sidebar: 

 

  1. Go to Settings > Practice Settings > Roles & Permissions.
  2. Select the Edit button for the desired role.
  3. On the Update Role screen, expand the Practice Settings tab and select the Access the Settings on the Left Sidebar checkbox.

 

 

 

Users without this permission won’t see the Settings option in the left sidebar. 

 

 

Grant Permission to Edit Calendar Appointment Types 

To grant permission to update the calendar appointment types: 

 

  1. Go to Settings > Practice Settings > Roles & Permissions.
  2. Select the Edit button for the desired role.
  3. On the Update Role screen, expand the Practice Settings tab and select the Edit Calendar Appointment Types checkbox.

 

 

Users without this permission attempting to edit an appointment type from the Settings > Calendar Settings tab will receive a restriction message. 

 

 

Grant Permission to Enable SMS Reminders (Add-on) 

To grant permission to enable the SMS reminder feature: 

 

  1. Go to Settings > Practice Settings > Roles & Permissions.
  2. Select the Edit button for the desired role.
  3. On the Update Role screen, expand the Practice Settings tab and select the Enable SMS Reminders (Add-on) checkbox.

 

 

Users without this permission won’t see the SMS/Text Appointment Reminders section in Settings Calendar Settings. 

 

 

Grant Permission to Manage Caseload Security

To grant permission to manage the Caseload Security feature: 

 

  1. Go to Settings > Practice Settings > Roles & Permissions.
  2. Select the Edit button for the desired role.
  3. On the Update Role screen, expand the Practice Settings tab and select the Manage Caseload Security checkbox.

 

 

Users without this permission won’t see the Caseload Security section in Settings Account Management. 

 

 

Grant Permission to Reset Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) 

To grant permission to reset multi-factor authentication: 

 

  1. Go to Settings > Practice Settings > Roles & Permissions.
  2. Select the Edit button for the desired role.
  3. On the Update Role screen, expand the Practice Settings tab and select the Reset Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) checkbox.

 

 

Users without this permission will not be able to reset multi-factor authentication (MFA) during login process.
