Clinical Reminder Rules

Clinical Reminder Rules

ICANotes group administrators have access to Clinical Reminder Rules. When these rules are established, the Group Admin view of the Clinician Reminder Sheet will include reminders to complete certain types of clinical documentation for the patient based on their admission date.    Clinical Reminder Rules   From the Chart Room navigate to Settings and Directories, then click into Group Level Settings and Directories. Clinical Reminder Rules are located in the Clinical Reminder Rule section of the 'More' tab:   Screenshot for Clinical Reminder Rules   Start building a rule by first clicking into the Name dropdown and making a selection. Your choices include initial exams of various types (psychiatric, medical, nursing, etc), treatment plans, and discharge summary.   Screenshot for Clinical Reminder Rules   With your cursor, click into the Latency field and type the number that will correspond to Units in the next field. For example, if the rule is to be described as "within 1 week" you would type "1" into the Latency field.   Screenshot for Clinical Reminder Rules   Next you will click into the Units field and make a selection from the dropdown to help define when the rule should take place. As in the above example, the rule is to be defined as "1 week". Click to make a selection.    Screenshot for Clinical Reminder Rules   Finally, in the Role field, select the discipline the rule should apply to from the dropdown. The Role is tied specifically to the Assigned Providers from within Demographics. More on that in a moment.    Screenshot for Clinical Reminder Rules   With all fields selected, your Clinical Reminder Rule is established. This rule reads as: An Initial Treatment Plan should be completed by the Social Worker within 1 week of admission.    Screenshot for Clinical Reminder Rules   Use the red X button located to the right of each rule to remove it from the listing. If you need to make changes to any rule, simply click into the appropriate field and make a new selection to re-establish the rule.     Ensure that the patient's Assigned Providers are designated with the appropriate Role from the chart face. To do this, navigate to the patient's chart, then click into Demographics. In the Assigned Providers section at the lower left corner, click into the Role field.    Screenshot for Clinical Reminder Rules   Then make a selection:   Screenshot for Clinical Reminder Rules   The Assigned Provider is now assigned the designated role. Clinical Reminder Rules specified for the chosen Role will display for that Assigned Provider in the Clinician Reminder Sheet.      Clinician Reminder Sheet   Access the Clinician Reminder Sheet from the Reports dropdown menu located at the top left corner of your ICANotes session.   Screenshot for Clinical Reminder Rules     You may see the Individual View by default. If so, click into the Group Admin View, located at the top right of the report.   Screenshot for Clinical Reminder Rules   The box located in the top left quadrant of the Group Admin View contains your notices for Clinical Reminder Rules that are due, with the Clinician's name in the first column, followed by patient name, the specified clinical reminder, due date, and extra buttons for deleting or quickly accessing Patient Accounts and the patient's chart:   Screenshot for Clinical Reminder Rules     Use the Filter by Clinician and Filter by Type dropdowns to fine tune your display results. Once you apply a filter your results will automatically refresh to show you just the types specified.    Screenshot for Clinical Reminder Rules
